Wedding Inspiration: Masculine Vibes

Back in October, on a sunny fall day, we had a top notch team out to the farm for this brilliantly designed and executed photo shoot!

I’ve previously posted about my affinity towards plaid, so I, of course, was ecstatic to see it show up in this design (thanks to La Tavola). I was also ecstatic to work with some SUPER LOCAL talent. Bear Brook Bakery and A Family Affair are literally minutes away from the farm, and it’s fascinating to see how stellar Melissa and Paula are at what they do. Melissa was actually one of the first people to reach out to us when we announced the opening of Cunningham Farm, and I was so grateful for her kindness. Emily Carter Flowers is also just down the road in Freeport, and it was amazing to see her pull everything together that morning. It was truly like watching a wizard magically turn piles of stems into a beautiful piece of art with the flick of a wand – it was fascinating to watch!

A favorite memory of the day was the beautiful model-bride, Diana. She showed up looking absolutely stunning. Her hair and make-up (Aphrodite Salon and Adore Rouge) was perfect, and it was a true a-ha moment when her dress went on (Andrea’s Bridal). Her groom-husband also was looking very dapper decked out in J Crew. When T got to the farm, I told him he just had to go see the couple. It turned out to be a very “small-town Maine” account, as T actually knew Diana from working together on home design and staging photo shoots!

This shoot is also comprised of many firsts. Besides our first shoot, it was the first time we hung additional lighting in the barns (Griffin & Griffin Lighting), and I loved seeing how bringing in chandeliers could really help execute the vision. It was also the first time we got to see the Carriage Barn decked out! Paula turned our smallest barn into a groomsmen lounge space (which is actually how many of our couples are choosing to use the barn for the 2018 season), coupled with a dessert bar. There was a handsomely crafted menu (Letter and Adore), and treats from The Frisky Whisk and Black Dinah Chocolatier. Jess from Fidelio commented during the shoot that she loves working on detail shots, and they came out beautifully. I equally love how she used the light to enhance the couple images!

Overall, going through the images made us incredibly excited for the upcoming wedding season, and we can’t wait to see some of this team come back together almost exactly a year later to create lasting memories for one of our Cunningham Couples!
